Underworld Awakening was a fun project to work on. While at Fido I was responsible for the texturing, lookdev and lighting of the creature that gets his face partially shot away. I must say that I had to examine some really nasty reference images that would make any man or woman have sleeping problems. The Main weapon of choice when it came to texturing the assets was Mari. We used Renderman for the look-development and rendering. I used a combination of Nuke and Mari to make animated blood patterns in one of the shoots, the animated texture sequences was used as a displacement for blood gushing out through the torn off throat area.
